This post will show you to build your own diy light sensor. The purpose of the sensor is to turn on your car lights.
Before start, you will need some electronic components, a pcb and welding knowledge.
Components:
- LDR
- Resistors
- Operational amplifier
- Transistor
- Car relay

Description
The operational amplifier is configured to run with a hysteresis behavior, this allows to avoid the lights blink in the limit of the comparation.
The operational amplifier wouldn’t have enough power to turn on the relay, to solve this problem the transistor is placed.
Testing
Here you have a video testing the circuit, the relay and the transistor isn’t placed, the light is a car led light, and the operational amplifier has enought power to turn it on.
